Counties of Scotland

Since 1996, Scotland has 32 council areas (Counties and Shires). Historically, Scotland was divided into 34 counties or shires. Although these no longer have any administrative function, they are still used to some extent in Scotland for cultural and geographical purposes, and some of the current council areas are named after them.

Below there are the 31 historical mainland counties (shires), which excludes the island groups of Shetland, Orkney and Bute. Can you match up the number to the county?
