British City Escutcheons 02

In heraldry, an escutcheon is a shield or shield-shaped emblem, displaying a coat of arms. In everyday life, it’s an ornamental or protective plate around a keyhole, door handle, drawer pull, light switch, etc. British cities often have elaborate coats of arms (e.g. city councils) with an escutcheon as a focal element. The word escutcheon (late 15th century) is based on Old North French escuchon (‘shield’). Below, there are representations of the shields used by some British cities. There’s also a list of the cities to help. Match them up.
