Idioms and common sayings fill everyday conversations, even though their true meanings differ significantly from the literal interpretation of their words. Furthermore, using these expressions makes your speech sound more natural and authentic to native speakers. Common Phrases 06 (idiom picture quiz): A group of two or more words that functions as a single unit in a sentence. It doesn’t usually contain both a subject and a verb (unless it’s a verb phrase). They are the basic building blocks of sentences, like “on the table,” “a big, green dragon,” or “walking quickly.” They often function as descriptions (adjective phrases) or explain how, where, or when (adverbial phrases).
